To Our Patients and Our Community:
We are actively monitoring the rapidly evolving situation related to COVID-19.
Our practice is doing our part to curb the spread of the virus through social distancing. While we remain open, it is in a restricted fashion. To preserve the limited resources of our health care system and to keep our patients and our team as safe as possible during this health emergency, we are using current guidelines to take the following measures:
All non-urgent dermatologic care is being postponed.
All elective procedures are being postponed until at least April 14th. This includes all cryotherapy (treatments with liquid nitrogen), most biopsies, and most excisions.
When possible, patients are requested to arrive alone.
We have launched Telehealth visits to provide patient care for eligible patients with eligible patients with routine and urgent concerns. This service is available for both new and estrablished patients for conditions such as rosacea, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rashes. Dr. Martin-Wimmer will also be able to evaluate if you require (a) medication refill(s) or medication adjustment(s). Telehealth visits will be billed to insurance as an office visit. Colorado law is requiring insurance plans to cover telehealth visits as they would an in office visit, including usual copay and deductible requirements.
We want to do our part to keep patients with urgent dermatologic conditions out of the urgent cares or emergency room. If you have an urgent dermatologic concern, please contact our office to schedule your appointment, and we can help you to decide if your visit is best accomplished in person or through a telehealth platform. Examples of dermatologic urgencies include but are not limited to: abscess or painful ruptured cyst, cellulitis (skin infection), shingles, rapidly growing/painful/actively bleeding skin lesion, and severe skin rashes.
Thank you for your help in curbing the spread of COVID-19 and for your patience with our practice as we reschedule and postpone visits.
Since 1991, Alpine Dermatology has been working to provide the best dermatological care for patients in the Lakewood area. Dr. Darnell Martin-Wimmer’s experience in dermatology is coupled with genuine concern for her patients.
We are dedicated to addressing all of your skin care needs. While many healthcare providers offer dermatologic care and cosmetic procedures, the results depend on the provider’s skill and experience. A board-certified dermatologist has the training and expertise to provide the best possible skin, hair and nail outcomes for patients while taking steps to ensure their health and safety. We do not have any physician assistants, so everyone is seen by a board-certified dermatologist.
We want all our patients to be informed decision-makers and fully understand any health issues you face. That’s why we’ve developed a website loaded with valuable information about dermatology and dermatological problems and treatments.
Our website also provides you with background about our physician, office hours, financial policies, appointment procedures, maps, directions to our office in Lakewood and other useful information. We know how hectic life can be and are committed to making our practice convenient and accessible. We want you to feel confident that when you choose Alpine Dermatology you’re working with a doctor who is qualified, experienced and caring.
Please take a few moments to look through this site to get a better feel for Alpine Dermatology’s capabilities and services. We also invite you to call our Lakewood office at any time to request an appointment or ask any questions. Thank you.
